Today, across the country, thousands are joining together to demonstrate their convictions that we are not to become a Kingdom, that we are to remain a Democracy! There is definitely a feeling amongst many that we are headed toward a monarchy, a tyranny, a dictatorship, and given so many of the actions of our current “president,” that feeling arises with good cause. I will not be joining the group downtown, but the least I can do is express my thoughts here for any who by chance discover this site.

It seems ridiculous that we need to demonstrate to express our anti-king feelings. I find it hard to understand how so many people in this country have forgotten that we were established by immigrants who were trying to escape the tyranny of monarchs in other parts of the world. They tried to set up a system that would prevent the consolidation of power in the hands of a single individual. But look at us now. So very many seem willing to freely give up our freedoms. I simply don’t understand it. I reject the notion with every fiber of my being, with every thought of my mind, with every beat of my heart, with my universal soul.
